The course of investment, trade and economic cooperation with Japan and the Republic of Korea

On April 20 of this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister , Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov to study the current state of investment and trade and economic cooperation with Japan and the Republic of Korea and the implementation of bilateral agreements achieved as a result of high-level visits.


The meeting was attended by the leads of the relevant complex of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Association "Uzpromstroimaterialy", as well as the Ministry of Energy.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the countries of East Asia was noted. Currently, 48 projects with a total value of $ 6.6 billion are being implemented with Japan, and 60 projects worth $ 9.7 billion are being implemented with the Republic of Korea in such areas as industry, energy, agriculture, healthcare, housing and communal services.

An in-depth analysis of the current state of implementation of each approved project was carried out, the existing issues were considered and measures were developed to resolve them.

Following the discussion, the responsible leaders were given targeted instructions to take concrete practical measures to ensure the accelerated implementation of joint projects with Japanese and Korean partners.
