100 million dollars will be attracted to accumulate flood waters in small sources

In a situation where water is scarce in our region, 1 billion cubic meters of floodwaters are flowing in vain in Uzbekistan per year. For this reason, it is necessary to accumulate flood waters in small sources, in this regard it is necessary to support the initiators, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the meeting held on April 18.

According to the head of state, 100 million dollars will be attracted for such projects. The areas where the water has flowed to their account will be given to the entrepreneurs themselves for free use for a long time.

In addition, 450,000 hectares or 15% of irrigated areas are currently leveled with laser technology. If such lands are doubled, another 900 million cubic meters of water will be saved, and water supply will be improved on an additional 200,000 hectares. Therefore, this year, it was decided that a thousand laser levelers will be brought, and laser leveling services will be provided to farmers by clusters.
