289 enterprises based on Kyrgyz capital are operating in Uzbekistan

On July 25 of this year, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade J.Khodjaev held talks with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic B.Torobaev in the form of a video conference. The parties exchanged views on current issues of mutual cooperation.
For information: by the end of 2021, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan exceeded 953.5 million dollars, and in the first half of 2022 it exceeded 590 million dollars (increase compared to the same period last year) made 39% compared to the period).
Practical measures for the development of industrial cooperation were discussed in detail at the meeting. In particular, 289 enterprises based on Kyrgyz capital are currently operating in Uzbekistan. 129 of them are joint enterprises and 160 are enterprises with one hundred percent foreign capital. Willingness to increase the number of joint projects in the fields of energy, light industry, pharmaceuticals, automobile industry, building materials and agricultural products production, as well as agricultural machinery, cars and basalt fiber production was expressed.
Other priority areas of cooperation included in the program for the development of trade-economic cooperation and industrial cooperation between the two countries in 2022-2025 were also discussed.
