3,116 officials were prosecuted last year

During 2022 there were 3,116 criminal prosecutions involving 2,965 criminal cases, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Of the officials whose crimes were uncovered, 110 were in republican, 264 in regional and 2,742 in district (city) ministries, departments and organisations.

It has been noted that of the officials brought to criminal responsibility, 2103 were charged with embezzlement of property, 265 with abuse of office, 243 with fraud, 169 with bribery, 51 with fraud using their official position, 22 with negligence, 14 with fraud using their official position. 249 others have committed crimes.

As a result of the officials' crimes, the interests of the State and society suffered 1 trillion 12 billion soums in material damage, of which 847 billion soums were recovered during the investigation.
