4 foreign companies are interested in construction of solar photovoltaic stations in Uzbekistan

It is reported that big companies from the UAE, Turkiye, China and France are participating in the tender for construction of solar photovoltaic stations with total capacity of 500 megawatt in three regions of Uzbekistan.
According to the terms of tender the construction of solar photovoltaic stations with the capacity of 250 megawatt in Bukhara region, 150 megawatt in Namangan region and 100 megawatt in Khorezm region is envisaged.
The bidders for the project in the Bukhara region received a total of 125 MW of the 63 MW/hour, also submitted their proposals for a battery-based chemical energy storage system (Bess), which can provide electricity.
The second stage of the tender is organized in such a way that the winner of the largest project (250 MW in Bukhara region) cannot participate in the tender for the other two projects in Namangan and Khorezm regions, and similarly the winner of the project in Namangan region cannot participate in the tender of the project in Khorezm.
Companies and consortiums participating in the tender:
- Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar (UAE) is a major bidder- submitted bids for all 3 projects;
- Alarko Holding AS (Turkiye) - medium participant - only for projects in Namangan and Khorezm regions;
- Consortium: GD Power (China) and PowerChina (China) - large participant - bid for all 3 projects;
- Voltalia SA (France) - small participant - only applied for the project in Khorezm region.
