5 major projects with a total cost of 3 billion dollars

On July 12, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on major energy projects being implemented in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates is developing rapidly. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of mutual trade has doubled.

Last year, the first solar power plant in our country was launched in Navoi region in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates company "Masdar".

The implementation of 5 more large-scale projects in this field has been agreed, the total cost of which is about 3 billion dollars. In particular, in cooperation with "Mubadala" and "Taqa" companies, it is planned to privatize and increase the capacity of Talimarjon thermal power plant, and with "Masdar" company to build wind power plants in Navoi region, solar power plants in Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.

It should be noted that a new system for the development of economic cooperation with the UAE has been launched this year. At the meeting, the implementation of projects in the field of energy was considered based on this system.

The head of our state emphasized that these projects will create the basis for the stability of the energy system and the further increase of the flow of investment in economic sectors.
