98% of populated areas are covered by mobile communications

In 2022-2023, a presidential decree was adopted “On measures to bring the information and communication technology sector to a new level.” In accordance with the decision, the main tasks of further development of the information and communication technology sector in 2022-2023 were determined.
Including: Until the end of 2022:
the level of coverage of residential areas with a mobile network will reach 98 percent, and mobile internet coverage on highways of international importance will reach 60 percent;
by building 40 thousand km of fiber-optic communication lines, the coverage will reach 80 percent;
by attracting the private sector to the provision of electronic public services, the number of users is increased by 2 times;
Until the end of 2023:
in the field of digital technology, more than 6.5 thousand young people will receive education in the field of Information Technology per year;
214 information systems and software products are introduced in state bodies, including local government bodies and enterprises in the sectors of the real sector of the economy.
From September 1, 2022, through the use of information and communication technologies in all regions of the Republic, Centers for the export of remote services will be created in stages.
From January 1, 2023, a single platform of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be launched, which includes the official website and portals of the relevant state bodies (24) on the basis of the principle of “Single window”.
