9th meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission

The 9th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk. It was co - chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Zayats. The event was also attended by the heads of the main ministries and departments of the two countries.

Within the framework of the agenda of the meeting, large-scale issues of investment, trade-economic, industrial, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were considered.

Positive trends in the development of cooperation and industrial cooperation in the field of investment were discussed. In order to develop new directions of cooperation and joint initiatives in the field of industrial cooperation, in September of this year, it was agreed to hold the second meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council in Tashkent.

The sides exchanged views on the issues of cooperation in the field of IT and innovation. In Belarus, in the first half of 2023, an agreement was reached on holding the 2nd meeting of the Belarusian-Uzbek Commission on cooperation in the field of Science and technology with the direct participation of participants, as well as enriching the approved Joint Scientific, Technical and innovative cooperation program with new initiatives and projects in the field of IT, digitalization and high technologies.

Belarusian colleagues were invited to participate in the 25th session of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair, which will be held in November this year, and the General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization, which is scheduled to be held in Samarkand in 2023.

At the end of the meeting, a final protocol reflecting the main agreements reached during the events was signed, as well as a "road map" on the implementation of the agreements reached at the end of the mutual visits of the heads of Government of the two countries.
