A 1,000 UZS coin will be issued from December 26

Central Bank of Uzbekistan said that since 26 December 2022 a coin with the face value of 1,000 UZS will be put into circulation. It is said that this coin with face value of 1,000 UZS will be in circulation along with banknotes with face value of 1,000 UZS currently in circulation.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan said that Uzbekistan Central Bank's monetary sign in the form of coin of 1000 UZS denomination consists of combination of 2 different colours, inner circle is made of yellow copper and brass, while outer circle is made of silver-nickel alloy.

Building of the Centre of Islamic Civilisation under construction in Tashkent is shown on the obverse of the coin. At the bottom of the image there is face value 1000 and word 'so'm' printed in Latin letters.

In the centre of the reverse of the coin depicts state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The words "O'ZBEKISTON MARKAZIY BANKI" are printed in circle in Roman letters on the outer circle of the Coat of Arms.

Under the emblem year of approval of coin's pattern 2022 is given. Side edge of the coin is smooth.

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan "currently in circulation coins in denomination of 1000 UZS will be in circulation today (in parallel) with banknotes in denomination of 1000 UZS of 2001 sample, that is 1000 UZS banknotes of 2001 sample will not lose their ability to pay.". .

Also, these new banknotes, along with the banknotes and coins in circulation, shall be accepted at face value by all economic entities and citizens for all types of settlements without any restrictions".
