A 61-year record for the duration of high temperature was set in China

In a number of regions of China, records were set for abnormally hot weather and the duration of extremely high temperatures. This is a record for the entire period of regular meteorological observations in the country since 1961.
It is noted that as of August 15, the abnormal heat has lasted for 64 days in a row, the previous record was 62 days in 2013. Meteorologists' data is based on data from 1680 meteorological stations that recorded temperatures above 35 degrees and 1426 stations that recorded temperatures above 37 degrees.
