A branch of Kazan Federal University opens in Jizzakh

The event was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education Abdukadir Tashkulov, hokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Soliyev and heads of higher education institutions of the region.
For information, Jizzakh branch of Kazan Federal University was founded a year ago by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The campus consists of an academic building with 1088 seats and a hostel with 384 beds (including 44 beds for foreign teachers). Currently, there are about 400 students studying in 10 disciplines.
The university provides training in mechanical engineering, geology, software engineering, economics, information systems and technologies, journalism, medical biochemistry, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, technological processes and automation of production, as well as fundamental, scientific, applied and innovative research projects.
In the academic year 2021/2022 the Jizzakh branch of the National University of Uzbekistan together with the Kazan University started training on the basis of joint educational programmes in the fields of software engineering, pharmacy and economics. Students studying in these educational programmes will continue their studies at the new branch starting from the current academic year.
Also, about 30 per cent of the applicants are accepted on the basis of a state grant. At the same time, graduates are employed by state organisations with a condition of at least three years of compulsory work after graduation. It is noted that at least 40 percent of teachers will be recruited from abroad, including at Kazan Federal University.
