A briefing dedicated to the SCO Economic Forum was held

On August 16-17 of this year, in connection with the holding of the II Economic forum in Tashkent within the framework of the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a briefing was held today, August 12 at the Ministry of investments and foreign trade.

The First Deputy Minister of investments and foreign trade Aziz Voitov took part in it, informing media representatives about the upcoming forum and noting the importance of holding the event based on the regional and international agenda.

In August of this year, several important international events were held within the framework of Uzbekistan's presidency of the SCO, which made it possible to draw the attention of the world community to the most important issues of a regional nature. The Economic forum was a logical continuation of the multi-vector foreign economic policy implemented by our country in the following years, and especially this year, which became more active in connection with Uzbekistan's presidency of the SCO. The initiative to hold a forum of this format in Tashkent was put forward by the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the SCO summit in Moscow in 2020.

The main objectives of the forum are to discuss the priorities of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as the prospects for economic development and practical cooperation in the SCO space, to demonstrate the investment potential of the Member States of the forum, to develop mutually beneficial cooperation, to ensure sustainable development and increase the potential of economic sectors.

The forum will be attended by heads of state bodies of SCO member states, ministries responsible for foreign economic activity, as well as representatives of international organizations. His program included plenary sessions and panel sessions.
