A brown bear listed in the Red Book was shot in Kashkadarya

On April 5, it was reported that a brown bear, listed in the Red Book, arrived on the territory of the Yashnabad mahalla, Chirakchi district, Kashkadarya region. The Ministry of Natural Resources said the bear was shot that night.
According to the ministry, around 11:00 pm yesterday, the bear entered a cave formed in a ravine near a sandy river. A little later, local residents gathered here.
Due to the untimely adoption of appropriate measures by the task force, consisting of representatives of local authorities, the bear was alarmed and tried to climb from the cliff to the top.
Head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chirakchi district A.V. to protect the population gathered around, ordered the hunter D.A. shoot the bear. As a result, the bear died.
"The bear died when representatives of the Tashkent Zoo arrived at the scene. The investigation of this case is ongoing. Responsible persons who committed irresponsibility and, as a result, caused the death of the brown bear, will be subject to appropriate disciplinary sanctions," the report says.
