A competition aimed at reducing the risk of international disasters was announced

In cooperation with UNICEF, UNDRR and the Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan, a competition of songs and music aimed at increasing the awareness of the population on the prevention and reduction of the risk of natural disasters was announced.

In order to develop a global culture of natural disaster risk reduction, the UN General Assembly has designated October 13 as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. In this regard, a selection of songs and music aimed at increasing the awareness of the population on the prevention and reduction of the risk of natural disasters was announced.

The main theme is "Sing About Endurance" and anyone who has the ability to sing is welcome to participate.

The selection criteria are as follows:

songs should last a maximum of two minutes;
send in mp3 format; (song lyrics are sent in MS Word format)
be in English, Russian or Uzbek languages;
The line "Early warning and early action for all" should be available;
Submit a video clip (optional).
Participation of children and young people in the music competition is highly encouraged.
All materials must be submitted electronically by September 30, 2022 to (hidden). The selected entry will be announced on October 10, 2022 and the winner will be notified by email.

The winner's song will be published on UNICEF, UNDRR websites and social media channels. In addition, shortlisted candidates will be invited to events dedicated to the International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction in Tashkent (the time and place will be announced to the winners) and the winners will be given letters of thanks.
