A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the collapse of a part of the Abdullakhon madrasah

The Prosecutor General's Office announced the initiation of a criminal case on official negligence on the fact of the collapse of part of the Abdullakhon madrasah in Bukhara.

The case was opened under article 207 (official negligence) of the Criminal Code. It provides for a penalty of up to 100 BRV or mandatory community service of up to 300 hours or correctional labor of up to 2 years.

The partial collapse of the madrasah "Abdullakhon", which is an object of cultural heritage, became known in early August. The Khokimiyat of the Bukhara region called the preliminary reason for this the impact of long-term "technogenic processes" — heat and cold, precipitation and the rise of groundwater. The restoration of the madrasah has begun with the involvement of the Agency for Cultural Heritage.
