A meeting of the ministers of energy of SCO Member States was held in Tashkent

On June 24, 2022, the second meeting of the ministers of energy of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Tashkent. The first place of the minister of energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadjaev and the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Min opened the forum with an introductory speech.

The leaders of the energy sector of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan also delivered a speech at the meeting. The A.Akhmedkhadjaev delivered a lecture on the development of renewable energy in Uzbekistan and the global importance of “green transition” in the economy.

The Declaration adopted at the end of the Ministerial Meeting approved the action plan on the implementation of the concept of cooperation in the energy sector between the SCO member states and approved the draft program of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources between the SCO member states.

The implementation plan of the concept includes cooperation in the field of energy security, renewable energy sources, the regional electricity market, the sphere of human capital development within the SCO.

It should be said that the second meeting of the ministers of energy of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization became the main event of the Uzbek Energy Forum-UEF 2022, which is being held on June 23-24.

Within the framework of the Forum, 24th International Conference “Oil and gas of Uzbekistan – OGU” and 2nd International Energy Conference were held in Tashkent.
