A new alliance has been formed in the Pacific region
A new alliance has been formed in the Pacific, with Australia, the United States, Britain, Japan and New Zealand members, according to the White House.
The Alliance is called Partners in the Blue Pacific (PBP).
"On June 24, the five countries launched a new multi-sectoral mechanism - Partners in the Blue Pacific. This new initiative demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the region," the statement said.
The parties noted that the cooperation will remain open, inclusive and informal.
