A press conference for media representatives was organized at the end of the SCO Samarkand summit

Today, on September 16, following the conclusion of the SCO Samarkand Summit, which has historical significance, SCO General Secretary Zhang Min and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov organized a press conference for media representatives regarding the results and the agreements signed there.
It is noted that a record number of documents - more than 40 agreements, concepts, programs and other decisions, which serve to fill the cooperation in the perspective directions of the Organization's activity with qualitatively new practical content, were adopted.
The head of our state emphasized the need to expand cooperation in the spheres of economy, trade and investment in order to jointly eliminate crisis situations and achieve sustainable development in the SCO space.
In this regard, the initiative to start a new wide-format economic dialogue of the SCO aimed at forming effective models of practical cooperation in the changing modern reality was put forward.
In addition, the promotion of the new "Samarkand Solidarity Initiative for General Security and Prosperity" by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was one of the important events of this evening's meeting of the leaders.
The participants of the summit unanimously approved this initiative aimed at ensuring peace and stability, broad international cooperation and promoting the sustainable development of humanity.
The head of our state proposed to hold the first international forum of the "Samarkand Initiative" next year here - in the ancient and ever-popular city of Samarkand.
