A project on the transformation of the electric power industry will be implemented

This will help improve the efficiency of the National Power Grid and provide reliable power to millions of businesses across the country.
For the implementation of the project, the International Development Association will allocate 380 million dollars, and the Green Climate Fund will allocate 43 million dollars. This financing is provided to the country's government at very low interest rates and with a maximum repayment period of up to 40 years.
The demand for electricity in Uzbekistan is expected to increase from 61 billion kilowatt-hours in 2018 to more than 100 billion kilowatt-hours by 2030. Currently, there are more than 250,000 km of power transmission and distribution lines in the republic.
In addition, modern digital and telecommunication technologies aimed at improving the processes of monitoring, management and use of the power transmission system will be introduced.
In addition, the project will expand and expand the infrastructure connecting Uzbekistan with the energy systems of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in Central Asia.
