A regional forum of the leaders of the NOCs of the CIS countries, the Baltic States and Georgia has begun its work in the capital's Hilton Tashkent City hotel.

On behalf of our country, the event was attended by Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Abduvokhidov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, the leadership of the NOC of Uzbekistan headed by Rustam Shoabdurakhmonov, as well as those responsible persons of Federations and Associations.

Aziz Abdukhakimov opened the forum and informed the guests in detail about the large-scale reforms carried out in our country, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population, the attention paid by the President of our state to physical culture and sports.

Commenting on the event, Vice President of the Asian Olympic Council Otabek Umarov noted:
“Today there are not so many platforms that unite all the countries of the post-Soviet space. Even fewer among them are those in which an atmosphere of genuine mutual understanding and partnership reigns. Fortunately, the forum of the heads of the NOC refers precisely to such formats of cooperation, and I am infinitely glad that today, after a forced break in 2020, we met in Tashkent. I sincerely hope that the dialogue will be sincere and the discussions fruitful, because in the end everything is subordinated to a common goal - to promote the principles and ideals of Olympism in a world that is changing before our eyes.
