A roundtable discussion was held on the priority directions of Uzbekistan's foreign policy

On July 6, 2022, a roundtable discussion on "Priority directions of foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was held at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the opening of the meeting, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration Adkham Bekmurodov, Permanent Coordinator of the UN in the Republic of Uzbekistan Roli Astkhan and others spoke.

In his speech, V.Norov noted that today under the leadership of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is implementing an open, consistent and deeply thought-out foreign policy, which allows to effectively promote the country's national interests and respond to modern international problems.

At the initiative of the head of state, the clear and long-term goals set in the "Strategy of Actions on Five Priority Areas of Development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021" were achieved. Particular attention was paid to increasing the position and influence of Uzbekistan in the regional and international arena. As a result of the implementation of the development strategy, the political, economic and cultural relations of Uzbekistan with the neighboring countries, the world's leading countries and international institutions have risen to a new, unprecedented level of quality.

In the current conditions, it is necessary to further expand the geography of foreign political activity, to activate cooperation with foreign partners, first of all, with neighboring countries at various levels and priority directions, to systematically monitor the changes taking place in the region and the world, to respond to emerging threats. It was noted that it is necessary to respond in a timely and comprehensive manner.
