A vaccine against monkeypox was developed in Russia

The Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia (FMBA) has developed a vaccine against monkeypox infection. At the moment, the new drug is undergoing clinical trials.

According to Veronika Skvorsova, the head of the agency, preliminary studies show that this vaccine has high efficiency and immunogenicity. Most importantly, it is safe and does not cause side effects.

We remind you that this virus is currently spreading rapidly. According to the latest data, the number of confirmed cases of monkeypox infection in the world has exceeded 52,000.

The population of the USA and Europe suffer the most from the disease. In particular, the United States is at the top of this list. The number of people infected with monkeypox in the country is about 19,300.

Spain is in the next place with 6,600 cases. Also, 5.1 thousand people in Brazil, 3.6 thousand people in France, 3.4 thousand people in Germany and 3.2 thousand people in Great Britain were diagnosed with this disease.

Earlier, it was reported that a 36-year-old patient in Italy was diagnosed with both coronavirus, HIV, and monkeypox, and this was considered the first case in the history of medicine.
