About 31,000 out of 40,000 high-rise buildings in the republic were built before 1991

On behalf of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to discuss the tasks to be implemented in the conditions of the continuing abnormally cold air in Uzbekistan.

It is noted that today there are 40 thousand apartment buildings in the republic, of which about 31 thousand were built before 1991.

In this regard, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, together with the khokimiyats of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, was instructed to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers within two months a draft program providing for a phased transition of the facade of these 31 thousand houses to basalt coating based on renovation, as well as providing hot water and electricity using alternative energy sources.

At the same time, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services was instructed to include the use of construction materials and equipment with a high level of energy efficiency in the design and estimate documentation of newly erected apartment buildings and social facilities.

In this regard, it was noted that it is also necessary to pay attention to increasing the production of energy-efficient building materials.

According to available data, today 13.2 thousand tons of basalt raw materials are mined in the republic. This is at least 30 percent of the annual demand (5 million square meters or 36 thousand tons).

In this regard, it was noted that "Uzsanoatkurilishbank", together with the Association "Uzsanoatkurilishmaterialari", will prepare a separate program within two months to increase projects for the production of basalt raw materials locally and by the end of the year should create a capacity of at least 5 thousand tons.

It was also noted that the "Uzeltehsanot" Association will prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a separate program to increase the production capacity of transformers, cables, solar panels and water heating collectors within two months.
