ADB will provide $ 273.8 million US to Uzbekistan

The ADB has approved a $ 273.8 million US loan for the reconstruction and modernization of roads in Uzbekistan.

The funds will be used to upgrade 106 km of the Darband-Denau road in Surkhandarya, and to reconstruct 87 km of the Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu road, which is part of the SARES-2 corridor. The bank will also provide a $ 150,000 US grant for female entrepreneurs.

The project will expand and reconstruct roads, abating travel time and car repair costs. Infrastructure for pedestrians, including bus stops, will be upgraded. Road safety will also be ensured and road signs will be updated.
