Additional measures for economic development have been identified

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a video conference on March 14 on sustainable economic development and transformation of state-owned enterprises.

The meeting focused on the development of a market economy in the country, the acceleration of efforts to improve the competitive environment and the privatization of state assets.

In particular, it was noted that 25 state-owned enterprises have been slow to increase operational efficiency. It was stated that the practice of state support of unprofitable enterprises should be completely abandoned.

The state of affairs in the field of transport was also considered. Measures have been taken to increase transit traffic, simplify charter flights, and turn local airports into regional transit hubs.

It was noted that the national airline "Uzbekistan Airways" should introduce modern approaches to work in a competitive environment, not to allow the increase in air fares.

The sides also discussed the issues of export, the current situation in foreign markets, the solution of transport and logistics issues, the expansion of the geography of exports, the introduction of products to new markets.

The governors reported on the implementation of tasks to ensure food security and price stability in the markets.
