Adoption of Delhi Declaration

 
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the first India-Central Asia Summit on January 27 in the form of a video conference.
 
The event, organized on the initiative of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, was attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasyym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
 
At the summit, leaders exchanged views on expanding friendly cooperation and strengthening political ties between the countries of the region and India. Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the strategic priorities for promoting practical cooperation in the India-Central Asia format and put forward concrete proposals in this regard.
 
As the first priority, Uzbek President paid special attention to the further development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, education and IT.
 
The second strategic priority was to expand economic forms, improve the quality of trade, boost the efficiency of transport links and study India's best practices in energy efficiency - "green" development.
 
Moreover, cultural and humanitarian sphere were referred as the third priority.
The heads of other delegations also noted in their speeches that there is great potential for expanding partnerships and regional cooperation in commerce, investment, innovation, transport, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, culture and tourism.
 
At the end of the summit, the Delhi Declaration was adopted, outlining common approaches to important issues of further strengthening friendly relations and multifaceted partnership between the Central Asian states and India.
