Cooperation with the Republic of Korea on innovation is being strengthened

As we announced earlier, a delegation of the Ministry of Innovative Development is visiting South Korea from 14th to 18th November this year. On November 16, the delegation representatives visited Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayor's Office at the invitation of South Korea's Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Governor Lee Chul-Woo.
During his official visit to Uzbekistan in August this year, Lee Chul-Woo said he was surprised by the work done in our country and expressed an initiative to develop cooperation in the field of green energy between the two countries.
Also, in order to further expand cooperation with South Korea in science and innovation, talks were held on providing grants to 10 students wishing to pursue master's and PhD degrees at their universities located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
At the suggestion of Director General of the National Office of Innovation Olimjon Tuychiev the agreement was reached on holding annual international week of innovative ideas in our country together with foreign countries next year (InnoWeek-2023) together with the Republic of Korea.
In addition, delegation of the Ministry of Innovative Development visited Yunnan University. During the visit, a tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Innovation Office, Kenbuk Technopark and the Daegu-Kenbuk LINC3.0 Project consortium of universities. This memorandum of understanding aims at introducing South Korean experience of developing industry-academia relations in Uzbekistan, as well as developing cooperation with South Korean universities and enterprises in the field of science, technology and innovation.
At the conclusion of the talks, Olimjon Tuychiev, director general of the National Office of Innovation, presented the international magazine Bright Uzbekistan to Lee Chol-woo, governor of South Korea's Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
