Ai-80 gasoline prices to rise in Uzbekistan from 1 March

Uzbekistan's zero excise tax on imported and domestic Ai-80 gasoline will expire on 1 March. In connection with this, the price of this fuel is expected to increase. The press service of Uzbekneftegaz said.

Earlier, in connection with the restriction of gas stations and the increase in demand for gasoline in December, the presidential decree temporarily abolished the excise tax on imported and domestic Ai-80 gasoline and the charge and cancelled the collection of excise tax on its retail sales. The measure was introduced from December 10, 2022, to March 1, 2023.

For reference, from 1 December to 12 December the average exchange price of a ton of gasoline Ai-80 was 8.09 million soums and on 13 December it dropped to 6.29 million soums after the excise tax was zeroed. Prices at gas stations fell from 6,800-7,500 soums to 5,700-6,000 soums.
