Aleksandar Vucic has been elected President of Serbia for a second term

Aleksandar Vucic has declared victory in the Serbian presidential election. By the end of election day, he had won more than 60 percent of the vote.

The incumbent recalled that he had won the election twice in the first round. His closest rival, former Army General Zdravko Ponosh, received about 17% of the vote, according to preliminary data. A total of eight candidates ran for the Serbian presidency, all of whom lost the election by a wide margin.

Hungary also held parliamentary elections on April 3. It was won by a coalition of Fidesz and the Christian Democratic People's Party led by incumbent Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who will remain in office for a fourth term.
