Almaty lost about 112.6 billion tenge ($ 259 million US) from the pogroms

This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Almaty Ilyas Userov at a meeting of the city headquarters for the restoration of normal life.

According to the speaker, the damage is still being identified.

Damage amount:

Administrative buildings - 22.6 billion;

Material and technical base - 16.7 billion;

Cars - 1.9 billion;

Business - 67 billion.

Non-food stores suffered the most damage during the riots - 20.9 billion tenge.

The riots also demolished arms stores (6.4 billion tenge), grocery stores (5.7 billion tenge), pawnshops (2.9 billion tenge), and public catering facilities (1.8 billion tenge).
