Alternative Schengen visa for the Silk Road countries

Vice Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov announced the introduction of a multiple-entry tourist Silk Road Visa. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have resolved all technical issues, it remains to go through local procedures.

The Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan reported that the Silk Road Visa will help overcome visa, customs and border barriers when tourists cross the borders of neighboring states.

Aziz Abdukhakimov said that in order to implement this project, a portal will work where foreigners can leave an application, the response for the application will come within 48 hours.

"A number of other countries want to join our project, Kyrgyzstan is very active, there are autonomous developments with the Republic of Azerbaijan, potentially Tajikistan, Mongolia, as well as a number of Transcaucasian republics could join this project. Negotiations are underway" - Abdukhakimov claimed.
