An exhibition opened in Tashkent dedicated to the work of the great Kazakh writer Abay

The Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan on December 19 opened an exhibition titled "Abai. Legacy of the brotherly nations" dedicated to the life and creative work of Kazakh writer and thinker Abai Kunanbaev.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Culture and Sports Dauren Abaev, Kazakh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Beybut Atamkulov, Director of the Abai Museum "Zhidebay-Borili" Turdykul Shanbai, Director of the Fine Arts Gallery Kamola Akilova, as well as members of the media and the public.
The exhibition, titled "Abai. Heritage of Brotherly Peoples" reflects the following main sections:
Nomadic culture as a fundamental factor in the formation of Abai;
The role of Alisher Navoi as a spiritual mentor in the formation of Abai;
The main stages in the life of Abai;
Heroes and subjects of Abai in the works of artists A. Kasteev, U. Tansykbaev, E. Sidorkin, N. Otepbaev and others.
The exhibition will also feature items of a traditional Kazakh way of life, arts and crafts, paintings, graphic works and publications about Abai and his works. A video about the life and work of Abai will also be presented.
The exhibition "Abai. Heritage of the brotherly peoples" will be on display from 19 to 30 December.
