An integrated approach to the digitalization of customs procedures

The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), will hold a training on digitalization of customs procedures within the framework of the Turkic Council from June 29 to July 1 in Tashkent.

Representatives of the Customs Committee of Kazakhstan will also take part in the event, which is organized online for specialists of the Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan.

During the event, the parties exchanged experience on digitalization of «TIR» and connection to the international system «e-TIR», as well as at the border checkpoint «Yallama» to monitor and verify the performance of transport operations using digital «TIR», it is planned to exchange experience in the field of risk management.

It should be noted that in November 2020, the digital pilot project «TIR» between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was successfully launched. Kyrgyzstan has also expressed interest in joining the project.

It should be noted that the absence of paper documents when using digital «TIR» significantly simplifies the work of customs authorities and carriers, reduces transaction costs due to the availability of a reliable international electronic database working in real time, increases the efficiency of cargo transportation and ensures their safety.
