An Uzbek-Singapore investment company will be set up with an authorized capital of $500 million

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held negotiations with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at Istana residence as part of his state visit to Singapore. The two leaders comprehensively reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation, and said relations in priority areas have been developing dynamically. The talks were followed by a bilateral document exchange ceremony.
With this in mind, our Head of State identified five key areas of cooperation with Singapore for the near future.
The first one is human capital development and training of highly qualified specialists for public administration.
The second is the involvement of Singapore in privatization processes in Uzbekistan.
The third priority is to attract advanced green technologies and digital solutions.
The fourth is to improve urban infrastructure and communications. The first step in this direction is an agreement on setting up a joint design and engineering centre for implementation of infrastructure and industry projects in Uzbekistan.
In the fifth dimension of cooperation, the sides stressed the importance of supporting investments and expanding mutual trade by promoting joint projects with leading Singaporean companies.
An agreement on setting up an Uzbek-Singapore investment company with a charter capital of 500 million dollars was reached.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on current issues of international and regional agenda. In conclusion of the meeting, held in an open and friendly atmosphere, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Lee Hsien Loong to pay a visit to our country at any time convenient for him. Following the talks, an exchange ceremony of bilateral documents was held.
In the presence of heads of delegations, the sides exchanged eight documents designed to further enhance the Uzbek-Singaporean cooperation at the level of governments, ministries and agencies of the two countries. In particular, agreements on cooperation in education, transport, healthcare, human resources, including training of civil servants, have been inked. Agreements have also been reached on trade and economic partnership and cooperation between prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
