Association "Uztextileprom" establishes cooperation with US brands

First Deputy Chairman of the Uztextileprom Association D. Vahabov met with President of the US Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) Julia Hughes.

For reference: the association, founded in 1989, unites more than 200 well-known American fashion brands, importers and retailers. USFIA members include such well-known companies as LeviStrauss, Michael Kors, TommyHilfiger, Kohlus, Oldnavi and others.

During the meeting, long-term plans and directions for entering the US market after the announcement by the Cotton Campaign coalition of the lifting of the "boycott" from Uzbek cotton were discussed. In particular, an extensive discussion was held on the requirements and standards for finished products, the introduction of the WRAP certificate. The conditions for joint participation in the exhibition “Magic-Business of Fashion”, which will be held in August in Las Vegas, as well as the participation of enterprises of Uzbekistan in these and subsequent exhibitions, were also agreed.

D. Vakhabov invited more than 200 representatives of well-known brands-members of the USFIA association to Uzbekistan and offered to organize a business forum and B2B meetings with the participation of local enterprises. USFIA President Julia Hughes supported the proposal, noting that the United States would do everything possible to ensure that the meeting was efficient.
