Aziz Abdukhakimov: athletes of Uzbekistan received 129 licenses for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. This figure is 120% more than in previous games in 2016 in Rio

On July 3, a meeting of athletes of Uzbekistan and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov was held in order to discuss issues of preparation for the XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
“In total, the athletes of the national teams of Uzbekistan received 129 licenses for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, of which 74 are Olympic and 55 are Paralympic. This is 120% more than at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio, ”Abdukhakimov said.
Also, cash prizes were awarded to groups of athletes and coaches who received tickets to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It is worth noting that, in fact, the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were supposed to take place in 2020. However, these games have been postponed for a year due to the global coronavirus pandemic. This was beneficial for our sport, as the number of participants from Uzbekistan increased and the training was completed.
