State programme for 2022-2026 signed between UNESCO and Uzbekistan

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov met today, November 15, with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay at the UNESCO World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education in Tashkent. A state program of cooperation between UNESCO and the government of Uzbekistan through 2026 was signed.
The goal is to cooperate in promoting the ideas of peace and sustainable development in Uzbekistan, making an important contribution to the further development of Uzbekistan in 2022-2026 based on the UNESCO Medium-Term Strategy for 2022-2029 and the Sustainable Development Agenda for the period until 2030.
According to the document, UNESCO and the Government of Uzbekistan reached a number of agreements. In particular, there will be cooperation in the implementation of the UNESCO Medium-Term Strategy 2022-2029.
In addition, UNESCO fully supports the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026. It will also jointly implement the Action Plan of the State Program for 2022-2026, of which the Government of Uzbekistan may become the first donor. At the same time, UNESCO offers Uzbekistan a number of advantages.
