Belarusian Defense Minister: New members are expected to join the CSTO

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is evolving and enrolls new states. The statement was reported by Viktor Khrenin, Belarusian Defense Minister, in an interview with a Belarusian military newspaper.

"I guess the organization is expanding. We will encounter how the order in the world will change soon, but the CSTO has shown its military preparedness and its enthusiasm to peace. I think, in a few years, it will include more than six states, who will value peace and stability, not aggression and change in political system of other states,” said the Minister.

According to the Minister, the threats and challenges for the CSTO member states are bound to change. "Certainly, I do not think that color revolutions, terrorism and drug trafficking, human trafficking and biological threats will disappear anywhere. Against the background of these challenges, the organization will develop, identify the appropriate structures and tools to deal with new threats, "added Victor Khrenin.
