Biden lifted sanctions

The US President lifted the sanctions imposed by his predecessor against the International Criminal Court. At the same time, the State Department said that the United States still does not agree with some of the court's actions.

Joe Biden's administration has lifted sanctions and visa restrictions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), which were imposed by the previous US President Donald Trump. This was reported by the press service of the State Department.

In a statement on behalf of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, it is said that Biden approved the annulment of the presidential decree, which provides for the application of the mentioned restrictions. “As a result, the sanctions imposed by the previous administration against the ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensuda and the head of the jurisdiction, complementarity and cooperation department Fakiso Mochochoko were lifted,” the statement said.
