Bloomberg: China was the third-largest supplier of cars in 2022

According to Bloomberg, in 2022 the supply of cars from China exceeded 2.5 million units, and the country ranked third on the list of the largest suppliers of cars.

It is noted that this is only 60,000 units less than Germany, whose exports have declined in recent years. It is noteworthy that Japan came in first, Germany second and China third in terms of car supplies. South Korea ranks fourth on the list and the US fifth.

It is also reported that Chinese carmakers are now leading in the Middle East and Latin America. Tesla electric cars assembled in China and European brands owned by Chinese companies such as Volvo are popular in the EU. Sales of local brands such as BYD and NIO have also increased.

According to Xu Heidong, deputy chief engineer of the Bloomberg China Automotive Association, the country aims to reach 8 million sales by 2030, more than double the current Japanese supply.
