BMB Cup: First amateur football tournament with a prize fund of 500 million UZS

The draw of the tournament BMB Cup was held today in the conference hall of Uzbekistan Football Association.

Chairman of supervisory board of BMB Trade Group Bekzod Mamatkulov told Bright Uzbekistan that the company allocated prize fund of 500 million UZS for winners of the tournament.

"In October, we decided to hold BMB Trade Group's BMB Cup tournament to popularize and develop futsal among amateurs .

A total of over 50 teams from various ministries, state and commercial organizations, higher and secondary special educational institutions, teams of Mahalla Citizens Assemblies, non-organized youth organizations have expressed their desire to take part in the tournament. In order to ensure fairness and impartiality in the selection of participants, a qualifying tournament was organised by the management, and 16 teams that successfully participated in it received tickets to the main tournament.

For the first time in amateur futsal tournaments, it was decided to declare a prize fund of SUM 500 million.
1st place winner - 150 million UZS;
2nd place winner - 100 million UZS;
The 3rd place winner will receive a prize fund of 50 million UZS.
Prize money will also be given to the winners of the tournament in 4 separate nominations," Bekzod Mamatkulov said.

The draw was attended by Ravshan Irmatov, first vice president of the Football Association of Uzbekistan, Bekzod Mamatkulov, chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB Trade Group, Tursunali Kuziev, deputy director of the Cultural Heritage Agency, Davron Abdullaev, member of the Supervisory Board of BMB Trade Group and founder of Bright Uzbekistan, as well as captains of teams that won the right to participate in the tournament BMB CUP.

It was noted that for the purpose of training young futsal players, the company introduced a requirement to have at least one player under 19 years old present on the pitch during the match.

It is worth noting that BMB Trade Group has a number of works for the development of football in Uzbekistan. In particular, the company sponsored the Sogdiana Football Club of Uzbekistan Premier League title in the season of 2021 and the Lokomotiv football club in the season of 2022. In July 2022, the company invited international football stars to Uzbekistan to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Uzbek football.

At the same time, BMB Football Club was founded under the aegis of the company. The club won the first league of Uzbekistan Football Championship 2022 and received a ticket to the top league. In April 2022, BMB Football Club was one of the first futsal clubs in Uzbekistan to sign a contract with a Brazilian futsal player. Later, in August, the coach and two other Brazilian players were invited to join the club.
