Boris Johnson has resigned

The BBC reports that the head of the British government left the position of leader of the Conservative Party today, July 7, but will remain as Prime Minister until the autumn.

Speaking to reporters near the Prime Minister's residence, Johnson thanked his supporters and the British people for their support.
