Brazilian president declared three days of mourning in connection with Pele's death

The Brazilian legendary footballer “King of football” Pele died on December 29 at the age of 82 after a long illness.
The former Brazilian footballer Pele was rushed to the Sao Paulo hospital. Many tumors and heart failure have been detected in his body. On December 20, the football player's daughter announced that she was in critical condition in the hospital.
On December 27, Frank Khalid, a businessman close to Pele's family, wrote that he had said goodbye to his family and friends as the football king's situation was getting worse.
"Pele says goodbye to loved ones and friends. The king of football is unfortunately slowly giving up in the fight against cancer. His family said that the condition of the legend is getting worse,” Khalid wrote.
It is noted that Pele had been carrying out chemotherapy treatment for several months due to the appearance of tumors in the intestines, liver and lungs. But it did not benefit.
The former player underwent surgery to remove a tumor in the large intestine in September 2021, and was hospitalized twice in 2022 to treat three malignant tumors and urinary tract infections.
