Briefing on the Forum of Heads of Regions, which will be held within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship of the SCO

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade held a briefing on the Forum of Heads of Regions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be held in Tashkent on August 3-4 this year. During the briefing, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade A.Voitov spoke about the importance of the event for our country.

This Forum, which is held within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the SCO, is expected to become a forum for regional level dialogue to discuss the issues of development of cooperation between the member countries of the organization.

The event is being held as part of the implementation of the initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev at the summits of the SCO member states held in Moscow in 2020 and Dushanbe in 2021.

It was noted that the main goal of the forum is to deepen interregional cooperation in trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other priority areas, to create favorable conditions for the development of comprehensive cooperation between the regions of the SCO member states.

State bodies of SCO member countries, heads of administrative-territorial units, as well as representatives of business circles will take part in this large-scale event. Within the framework of the forum, it is planned to hold panel discussions in such areas as tourism, cultural-humanitarian cooperation and agriculture.

In addition, B2B meetings of Business Forum and representatives of business circles will be held as part of the event.
