Business meeting of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in Termez

Currently, the team of the international project "Bright Uzbekistan" is taking part in the business forum of Uzbek-Afghan entrepreneurs. A meeting of the Uzbek delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Afghan delegation took place here.

Opening the event, Deputy Prime Minister S. Umurzakov noted that one of the important issues is bringing the Uzbek-Afghan friendly relations to a new level, strengthening fraternal ties between the two peoples.

He also noted that in recent years, the annual trade turnover between the two countries has amounted to $ 700 million, and has set an ambitious goal for himself in the coming years to bring this figure to $ 2 billion, to establish a trade balance in this direction.

Two very important projects between our countries were discussed at the event. In particular, it was noted that the projects of the Trans-Afghan corridor and the Surkhan power transmission line will greatly benefit the economies of the two countries.

It was also said that Afghan business representatives wishing to organize their business in the Surkhan FEZ (free economic zone) do not need an entry visa to Uzbekistan.

In turn, the head of the Presidential Administration of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Shakir Kargara, noted the high level of the meeting in his opening speech. Greeting the businessmen of the two countries, he proposed to hold the next similar event in Mazar-i-Sharif.

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov made a proposal to organize industrial cooperation between the two states.
