Cairo welcomes Uzbek-Egyptian political consultations

There was the 10th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt on May 25, 2022 in Cairo.

The consultations were chaired by Furkat Sidikov, Uzbekistan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Ayman Kamil, Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister.

Welcoming each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt, the sides confirmed that the two countries have decent opportunities for further enhancing cooperation in political, trade and economic, investment, tourism and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

High-level talks between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Abdulfattah al-Sisi held in Tashkent on September 4-5, 2018 and in Beijing on February 5, 2022 brought the bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level and content.
Historical and cultural commonality of our two peoples, the proximity and similarity of traditions serve as a solid backbone of Uzbek-Egyptian relations, parties noted.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Cairo, the sides canvassed issues of supporting direct contacts between businessmen of the two countries, increasing the flow of tourists and education. Particular attention was paid to expansion of contacts in priority areas such as religion, education, innovation, healthcare, security, studying the heritage of our great scientists, promotion of joint projects in the field of museology and archaeological monuments.
