Charging stations for electric cars will be set up at «petrol stations»

A presidential decree on measures to expand the infrastructure for using electric cars has been passed. The ordinance stipulates that from 1 January 2024 it will be compulsory to include charging stations for electric vehicles in the design of shopping and business centres, entertainment and recreational facilities, petrol stations, hotels, and infrastructure facilities along international and national highways.

By the end of 2024, a programme of measures to increase the number of charging stations for electric vehicles to at least 2,500 will be approved in the country.

In this:

    During 2023, land plots will be auctioned for the installation of 1,500 electric vehicle power stations from areas adjacent to power lines, transformer points and nimstations;
    construction of at least 500 electric vehicle power supply stations in the vicinity of power transmission lines, transformer points and Nims located in areas adjacent to international and national highways;
    it is assumed that in 2023-2024, land plots for placing at least 500 electric vehicle power supply stations will be auctioned through AAT "K-trade".

Also from 1 January 2023:

    Entrepreneurs are given the right to sell (market) electricity through electric vehicle power stations to power vehicles moving on electricity sources;
    the tariff (cost) of the vehicle power supply service is set by the entrepreneurs themselves, irrespective of the approved electricity tariff.
