China stops publishing covid-19 statistics

China has stopped publishing daily data on covid-19 due to doubts about its reliability. It is noted that the incidence of the disease has increased significantly since the relaxation of COVID restrictions.
It is noted that the National Health Commission of China has announced that the statistics will henceforth be published by the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
The country saw a sharp rise in disease incidence in December after official Beijing changed its strategy to combat the coronavirus.
Last week, British research company Airfinity reported that about a million people are infected with the coronavirus in China every day and 5,000 fall victim to the infection.
In early December, the common system of taking PZR tests was cancelled in many parts of the country due to protests. In addition, the mandatory PZR requirement was also abolished when moving from one province to another.
