Chinese company to build solar power plants in three regions of Uzbekistan

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, within practical visit of the delegation headed by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China on February 15, a memorandum of understanding was signed with CEEC ENERGY CHINA on the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants with total capacity of 2000 MW in Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
It is noted that under this memorandum, the Chinese company will make direct investments of 2 billion dollars in our country. The first solar photoelectric plants will be put into exploitation by the end of this year, and will reach their full capacity in 2024.
This will produce 5.2 billion kWh of electricity and save 1.4 billion cubic metres of natural gas annually.
