Citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan can now enter both countries using an ID card

During the state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan, the protocol on amendments to the Agreement on Mutual Visits of Citizens signed between the governments of the two countries on October 3, 2006 was exchanged.
According to the changes, now all citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will be able to enter these states using an ID card proving their identity (previously - only by passport).
Information about the entry and exit of citizens will be recorded electronically.
This rule applies to crossing the border by any type of transport (plane, train, car, bus, etc.).
It will enter into force after the signed documents have been duly approved by both countries. This procedure will take about 1-2 months.
P.S. To date, the procedure for mutual travel by ID card with any country has not yet been established. Kyrgyzstan was the first.
